BREAST CANCER CAN STICK IT!

Mission: “To drum up funds for treatment, research, trials, and mammograms through music-centric events that ROCK, to ultimately STICK IT to breast cancer.”

THEIR STORY
In October of 2010, professional drummer, April Samuels, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer called triple negative breast cancer. Immediately April was motivated to “take action”. Within a few weeks, combining her will to fight breast cancer with her passion for drumming, April coined the slogan “Breast Cancer Can Stick It!.” Soon after, the logo shown above was designed and modeled after April. She began selling t-shirts from the back of her car and raising money to FIGHT breast cancer. This slogan and logo became the cornerstone for our future nonprofit.
OFFICIALLY A 501(c)(3) NONPROFIT
In May 2013, April took the next step in her philanthropic journey and made Breast Cancer Can Stick It! a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The foundation donates funds directly to facilities that provide breast cancer care.
CELEBRITY INVOLVEMENT
Fast forward to October 2015, Breast Cancer Can Stick It! held its first ever Drummathon, raising over $13,000. Since 2018, Drummathon has raised over $50,000 each year. The foundation has been honored to have the support of multiple celebrity drummers at the event, many of whom have returned numerous times including Carmine Appice (Ted Nugent, Ozzy, Rod Stewart), Mark Schulman (P!NK), Rich Redmond (Jason Aldean), Lori Peters (Skillet), Sandy Gennaro (Joan Jett, Cyndi Lauper, The Monkees), and many more.
OUR VOLUNTEERS
Breast Cancer Can Stick It! is 99% powered by volunteers. The 501(c)(3) has a crew of over 300 volunteers throughout the United States. The volunteers include our board, committee members, and individuals that staff and run our events. With no brick and mortar facility, and only a few part-time staff members, funds raised support the FIGHT against breast cancer to the maximum extent.
